This was a first for us! A proud parent of two Foreign Language Academy (FLA) students, who is active with the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) / Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) reached out to us to bring some life and artwork into the hallways of her children’s school.

FLA is a special place; its goal is to deliver a world-class educational experience in Kansas City. FLA currently offers the only Spanish and Mandarin Chinese immersion program in the metro, and we were excited to celebrate with a special mural in the school cafeteria.

Working alongside the PTA/PTO, the faculty and staff, and even teaching art class one day, we learned a lot about the fine people at this Midtown Kansas City school. From those interactions, JT Daniels and Katie Lee did what they do best, and created artwork to inspire these young students.

And then Dani Roma worked away in the basement cafeteria to celebrate this immersion school’s effort to teach students about Chinese and Spanish culture by creating “windows” looking out onto Chinese and Spanish landscapes. When she was finished, her artwork brought great new energy into the school cafeteria.
