The Kansas City riverfront is buzzing with growth. New buildings are rising, the KC Streetcar expansion arrives in 2026, and with KC Current lighting up the National Women’s Soccer League in 2025, the area has never been more exciting. To celebrate this momentum, Spray KC once again partnered with Port KC to bring new color and creativity to the riverfront near the Town of Kansas Bridge.
Eight artists were invited to contribute to this year’s project, culminating in MO River Murals Fest on October 11. Thousands gathered at Berkeley Riverfront Park to experience the reveal of 3,500 square feet of fresh murals. The theme, Human Connection, shines through every wall — with depictions of nature, animals, relationships, and messages written in English, Mayan, and Spanish.
The event became a true community celebration, complete with live music from DJ Joe, DJ NE$$ (official DJ of the KC Current), Kat King, and Sass-A-Brass.
One exciting addition this year was the expansion of the Riverfront Trail, now stretching over a mile to connect with The West Bottoms. This opened up more than 5,000 feet of new mural space. Spray KC was honored to curate a group of artists to add their work to such a historic wall, and we’re thrilled to see how it develops in the years ahead.
This project was made possible by the Neighborhood Tourism Development Fund.
